¿Qué pasa cuando combinamos nostalgia noventera, un sentido del humor muy fino y beats bien puestos? Nace una joya como “Not Enough Garys EP” del sello Gary’s Garage, un vinilo 12" que no solo rinde homenaje a una época gloriosa del garage, sino también al nombre más infravalorado del siglo: Gary. Y no, no estamos hablando de UK Garage. Aquí lo que suena es puro Gazza Garage, con toda la grasa, calor y sabor que eso implica.
El disco abre con “I’ve Taken (Too Many Garys)”, una bomba de bajo grueso que huele a calles mojadas, tintes de rave y bocinas rotas por el subgrave. Tiene esa vibra de tema que no sabes si está en 1999 o en 2025, pero te mueve el cuello igual. Después llega “Gary’s Ballad”, la cara más sentimental del disco: pads suaves, groove contenido y una atmósfera que parece llorar por los pasillos vacíos de un Woolworths abandonado. Gary se pone emocional, pero sin perder el ritmo.
Dale la vuelta al vinilo y sube el volumen, porque “Gary’s Garage (Is A Good Garage)” entra como un recuerdo borroso de una peda rara en Streatham. El ritmo salta, el bajo empuja y todo parece flotar entre euforia y descaro. Finalmente, “Nigel Garage” cierra el EP con más BPM, percusiones juguetonas y energía directa para la pista. Tiene ese toque sin pulir que hace que todo suene más crudo, más real, más humano.
