Metro Area 2 sigue sonando tan fresco y envolvente como cuando vio la luz en el año 2000. Este icónico EP de Metro Area regresa en una versión recién remasterizada, resaltando aún más su impecable producción y su atemporal fusión de disco, house y electrónica minimalista.
La joya del disco es sin duda “The Art Of Hot”, una pieza hipnótica de casi nueve minutos donde cuerdas etéreas (cortesía de Kelley Polar y compañía), percusión metálica y un bajo sintético envolvente crean un ambiente profundo y espacial, perfecto para perderse en la pista de baile.
Por otro lado, “Machine Vibes” ofrece un enfoque más cálido y melódico, con un groove elegante de nu-disco y un hermoso solo de flauta que lo convierte en un viaje sonoro irresistible. Finalmente, “Wafer” cierra el EP con un ritmo más suelto y juguetón, impulsado por un bajo funk y una vibra futurista que lo hace destacar dentro del catálogo del dúo.
Esta reedición forma parte de la celebración por el 20º aniversario de Metro Area, con Environ Records encargando la remasterización a Matt Colton (Metropolis Studios) para recuperar el sonido original de las ediciones en vinilo de la serie 12".
